Re: This gcode causes my controller to go off into the weeds
Thanks for that. I tried it on a MASSO controller and everything works just fine there, so it's certainly the controller. That's what you get with the el'cheapo Chinese junk. I am replacing the controller with one of these: https://buildbotics.com/product/113/buildbotics-cnc-controller At lease I wi...

This gcode causes my controller to go off into the weeds
I have attached a file that causes my controller to go off into the weeds on line number 158. It travels on the X axis out to around 65mm, which is far off of the work and then travel back past -150mm, which crashes the tool. Now, it looks to me like that should not happen with that line, which is "...

Re: New here. Not sure where to post this question.
For what it's worth, I uploaded my first cut at a post processor script for MASSO. It seems to do everything that I need it to. Any suggestions or critique is greatly appreciated.

Re: New here. Not sure where to post this question.
Thanks guys. I ran my first production run yesterday. I cut 25 pieces flawlessly. I have actually been working on this for about a year. It's great to be actually cutting parts now. This particular job takes me about 4 hours to do manually for 25 parts. With the new machine, it took just under an ho...

Re: Is this where I report problems?
I looked at the bug tracker, but I did not see a way to register or login. Do I need to apply or something?

Re: New here. Not sure where to post this question.
I have been doing a lot of testing. An "air run" is just the start. My machine is just a mini-mill, so it's not very stiff or accurate to begin with. I am good if I can get 0.001" repeatability. I am mainly cutting holes in thin aluminum tube, so I have been doing repeat runs on some PVC scrap I hav...

Re: New here. Not sure where to post this question.
Add a photo off your setup with X+ Y+ Z+ directions and home sensor positions. Will do.... I have changed the Z homing such that the home position is 9.5" and the zero is at the bed. After several air runs, I think that fixes my immediate problems. I can run the job, then home, then run the job aga...

Re: New here. Not sure where to post this question.
As you have seen, I am very new at this. I don't have a machinist background at all. I can do a credible job on some things, but I have zero training. Thats your problem, going from Z5 to Z0 or from Z0 to negative should be going down. (in rare cases an inverse setup might be nececary) Going down, l...

lots of things
I use QCAD for everything that I need a dimension drawing of. I am currently working on a chicken coop, but I have drawn lots of stuff from 3d printer parts to knife blanks. It's one of the most useful tools I have on my computer.

Is this where I report problems?
In the profile dialog, if I set the start depth and the cut depth to the same value, the system goes into an endless loop. To stop it, you have to quit QCAD. I am running on Ubuntu 18.04LTS and I have QCAD/CAM V3.23 I know this is a stupid thing, but it I wish it would just bail, rather than endless...

New here. Not sure where to post this question.
I am using QCAD/CAM V3.23 on Ubuntu 18.4LTS and I have a converted mini mill that I am trying to get working. My controller is Masso V3.42. The Z home (Z=0) is "up", X home is with the bed to the left, and the Y home is with the bed closest to me. All measurements are in inches. My problem is that Z...
