[solved] hatching, re-hatching after changing size of polygon
In the attached drawing I have resized the black (formerly square) polygon, now to a rectangular shape (-40;-30, -40;30, 40;30, 40;-30, -40;-30). The solid filled (hatched area remained and did not follow the resizing. How do I correct this? How do I remove the former hatch? EDIT: I got some errors ...

Re: printing white text on black
Yes, B/W Mode is chosen (selected). BTW, under what circumstances is it possible to use the "hand"-symbol to move the paper area under the drawing? At the moment this is locked but I remember to have been able to position the drawing relative to the paper. EDIT: solved! Using "Full Color Mode" in th...

[solved] printing white text on black
QCad 3.28.1.0 macOS BigSur I have drawn a black square (polyline, hatch solid from select), gave it the color "black". (still drawn white on the canvas, but that might be obvious since black on black background is not so useful). Then I gave the text ath color attribute "white". In the preview on th...

Printing original size to paper, centered
QCAD Pro 3.28.1.0 macOS 11.7.4 (BigSur) I would like to print a drawing (a circle of diameter 40mm) such that it appears in the middle of the page (DIN A4), not in the left lower corner as it is suggested in the preview. Do I have to offset my objects in the original drawing or can I do this in the ...

Re: drawing a compass rose
@CVH: Thanks a lot. This will help.
@J-J: also a great "Thank you". Decoration is nice but not necessary in my case. The scale is also fine (0..360)

ugrade on macOS to 3.27.1 looks funny
Is there a direct email contact like "support@ribbonsoft.com"? Doesn't seem so. An attempt to turn to that address directly bounced. I had downloaded the MacOS upgrade DMG file qcad-3.27.1-pro-macos-10.14-12.dmg to my MacBookPro (11.6.5 BigSur). After opening the DMG I got this (funnily clobbered) p...

How do I create a pattern of, say, squares?
I have created a square like 0,0;0,0 / 0,25;0,25 and would like to repeat it in Y with pitch 0,25 in Y.
To generalize it, repeat a pattern in x,y, nx,ny-times, with pitch px,py.

print white text on blue solid hatch
I cannot manage to print a white text on blue background. I drew a rectangle, made it to a polyline. Filled that with solid hatch. Changed the color property of the hatch to blue. Then I placed a text string into that filled rectangle, brought the text to front (MF). Changed text color to white. Als...

Re: Solid fill (HATCH) color
Thanks. I managed that to work. Given a circle already exists (color white). I define a new color from the chooser, that then is assigned to the the "Custom" in the color property (property editor) When I want to choose that color in the pen toolbox widget it is not listed. How can I now choose exac...
