Re: Can I merge blocks?
Ah OK, I think that's done what I was trying to achieve thank you. I've followed that, and then when I save it and insert it into my own drawing it just adds in 1 block. Are there any side effects to this I should be aware of when doing it? Or does it literally just remove all the block references a...

Can I merge blocks?
I've downloaded a drawing that I need to use, it's fairly complex and has about 100 blocks. Is it possible to merge all these into 1 that I can then insert into my own drawing?

Ok, thanks for the replies. At least it’s not an issue with QCAD.

Re: How to make image print normally in PDF
Oh really?! Didn’t see that one coming. I’m using a Mac and just open it with the stock Preview app. Is there something I should change? What PDF reader did you use?

How to make image print normally in PDF
I've attached 2 files, one is the original DXF file and one is just that file exported as a PDF. You'll see my company's logo is on there. When I print from the DXF file, the logo prints fine, but when I print from the PDF it just prints a black rectangle where the logo should be. This is a problem ...

Splash screen doesn't turn off
Not a particularly major issue, but just something I noticed - in Preferences under 'Startup' I unchecked the box next to 'Enable Splash Screen', but the splash screen still shows.
Like I say, not major but thought I'd point it out.

Solid fill in white with white background
I have drawn some parts I use as standard, all my drawings are black lines on white background. I want to fill these parts white so that if I insert them into another 2D drawing and they sit over the top of another part they cover them i.e. they aren't transparent. When I select hatch tool and solid...

Re: Removing viewport borders
1. Create layer called "viewport". 2. Move your viewport to that layer (select viewport, change layer in property editor) 3. Switch off layer "viewport" If you struggle, please let me know which step. Ah, I somehow hadn't realise you had to create a separate layer for viewports. I was just creating...

Removing viewport borders
I've finished my drawing in ModelSpace. I have inserted a border block into Paper_Space. In Paper_Space I then add a viewport and select my drawing. This then prints the whole drawing on 1 A4 sheet as expected but with a thin border around my viewport. Is there a way to turn this off? I see in the h...

Re: Still struggling with borders
If you want to work with layouts and viewports, insert the border into the layout block, not into your main drawing (model space). Please refer also to this tutorial: https://qcad.org/en/tutorial-working-with-layout-blocks-and-viewports You can also work without layouts and viewports: https://qcad....

Still struggling with borders
I'm still struggling with the concept of how to insert a border around my drawing. I've created a border with my company logo etc in a standalone dxf file. In my new drawings, I add this in from the Library Browser and it inserts it in a new block. Am I correct so far? What I can't then get my head ...

Re: Creating a circle to pass through 2 points
Ah, I realise I’ve missed out a potentially important bit of info then: where the circle passes through the top right hand corner, that exact point wants to be the very peak/highest point of the circle. Secondly, where the circle passes through the bottom left corner, it must be before the widest po...
