Windows 11
QCAD professional 3.28.2.0
Why is it that the true type font "TXT" renders differently in QCAD professional 3.28.2.0 than the windows fonts preview? see 1.dxf, screen shot and txt font in windows fonts.pdf.
In most cases QCAD is exactly the same as the true type font.

Re: [solved] Moving the ZERO
I am in agreement with treestumpexhaustpipe. My procedure is to make all layers visible select all move/copy from the point I want to be the new 0,0 to 0,0 (delete original option) certainly not the end of the world, but a one button "place origin here" to accomplish the same functionality would be ...

Re: Save block under new name
What I do is open the block for editing.
select all and copy
open a new drawing
paste the block you copied.
explode the pasted block and edit.
Save as your new file.

please see the screen shot. I have a customer with QCAD ask how he got into this state and how to get out. I looked at the book and help, but did not find it. I'm calling this viewports, but the terminology may be incorrect.

coordinate pick
I love QCAD, but...I have to be very careful in snapping to a point i.e. end point of a line, center of circle etc. If I am not careful to hold the mouse motionless for just a bit, the position will drag off of the snap point. I have seen this behavior on many different drawings. I do not think the ...

Re: [solved] Moving the ZERO
I have to jump in here in support of TreeStumpExhaustPipe. I note the feature request of the UCS. My understanding is that a ucs is always temporary At least in AutoCAD or Draftsight, and that the entities will always be saved using the world coordinate system. I used to use EasyCAD by Mike Riddle, ...

Re: QCAD saving linetype and textstyle definitions into empty files
Sorry to re-open an old post, but here goes anyhow. We have block - purge unused blocks and Misc - Modify - purge unused layers and blocks. I find them very useful to clean up a drawing. AutoCAD and Draftsight have a "purge" command that clean up unused line and text styles. Any chance that Either t...

CVH, one more thing You asked about cost. With all the accessories your looking at $22k There are no software subscriptions or support costs. Andrew, Thanks for the suggestion to untick the first entries on the reduced selection of fonts. That should have occurred to me. I would still like to see wh...

CVH you are saying you have an engraver that can handles fonts like TTF? Then my second question must be: Which engraver? Or, Which driver? My third: Does it do this with fairly good results? 2-2.5-3D? Our product is the Panel Pro found at www.bullerent.com My fourth: What did it cost buying / What ...

Re: font listing and export
Andrew, If I save a dxf file with a cxf font, i.e. cursive.cxf, close, then reload it, Qcad can tell that it is one of the cxf fonts. How does it do that? does it just look at the list of cxf fonts and see if it is on that list? Since the extension is included for a .shx font in the dxf file, why ca...

using Windows 10 and QCAD 3.23.0 text input.png Help me understand. The font selection looks like it should be True type as designated by the "TT" at the left of the font listing. Reset Origin
Hey there developers. Anybody out there willing to put together a script to Reset the origin. Basically I think the actions would be to turn all layers visible, select all entities. Select a new point where the origin should be. Move the selected items from the new origin point to 0,0. I'm not quite...

Re: Display Radians in properties
I have found and changed both drawing and application preference settings to indicate radians. this does not change how the angle is displayed in properties. You mention scripts. I am not up to speed on scripts but would like to be. My first attempt on educating myself was to go to the reference man...
