Re: QCAD saving linetype and textstyle definitions into empty files

Thank you, Husky, but the linetype and textstyle definitions are actually saved into the file. If you open the file attached to the first post with a text editor you can see some entries (at least ten each) for textstyles: 0 STYLE 5 E6 330 3B 100 AcDbSymbolTableRecord 100 AcDbTextStyleTableRecord 2 ...

QCAD saving linetype and textstyle definitions into empty files

Hello I happened to find out that QCAD is saving linetype and textstyle definitions that are available in the application even into an empty file without any objects. I came across this at work when I tried to find out why every text entity has gotten his individual textstyle after editing files in ...

Re: Custom complex linetypes

Hello, I just started creating symbol blocks for ISA S5.1, too. And also symbols for P&I Diagrams according to ISO 10628:2001. Would you like to share these drawings? Do you use block attributes? I'm still thinking about how to add proper block attributes. If you tell me what linetypes you are looki...

Re: PDF export from linux is 53 times bigger than on Windows

Hello,

got attached pdf files with Debian GNU/Linux (testing) and the CUPS pdf driver (printer-driver-cups-pdf, version 2.6.1-20) and QCAD 3.9.2.0 / Qt 4.8.6.

Re: Problem with ColorSettings/ColorMode in PDF export

Hello Andrew,

thank you for the reply. I've just added your code line and commented the other out. Now it works as intended at least for qcad 3.8.1 on windows 7 which is the only one I could test for now.

Thank you!

Problem with ColorSettings/ColorMode in PDF export

Hello, System: QCAD 3.7.4 and 3.8.1 downloaded as zip/tar.gz archive on Linux Mint Debian and Windows 7. I wrote a script for batch export PDF from AutoCAD drawing files (AC1009). The script file is located under "../scripts/Misc/Examples/IOExamples/BatchCreatePDF/". Everything is working fine excep...

Re: model railroad track planning

Hello,

I had the same problem when I first unpacked the downloaded archive. I then renamed the unpacked folder from "QCTrack_V**" (same name as the archive) to simple "QCTrack" and after that the dialog appeared. Maybe you have the same problem...

Re: Best file format for saving drawings

Hello, I also prefer the dxf file format because of it's plain text structure. Thus you can replace strings such as layer/block names in batch mode from the command line (or from a capable text editor). This is indeed very useful for me when developing satisfying layer names in multiple existing dra...

Hello Hungerburg,

did you also download the .ui file in my first post? I didn't upload it again because I hadn't changed it since.

Best regards

Re: ? [solved] Add custom property in library item script

Hello hungerburg,

thank you for your quick reply. Replacing setProperty() with setCustomProperty() and using three parameters indeed solved my problem (see updated script attached).

? [solved] Add custom property in library item script

Hello, I wrote a library item script for inserting drawings of steel sections in several sizes according to DIN standard. Now I want to add a custom property to the (polyline) entity using the .setProperty() method like it's shown here https://ribbonsoft.com/rsforum/viewtopic.php?p=4552 . But when I...

Re: What do people use QCAD for?

Hello

Currently I use QCAD for the design of real-life and model track plans as a hobby. :D

I also use it professionally for technical drawing from scratch. Unfortunately, the import of existing work-related files (dxf/dwg) with complex geometry does not work too well.

Best regards
Stephan
