Re: Using relative positions

To draw a rectangle with size 50x2, you can indeed: - Draw > Shape > Rectangle (or simply press the R key, then the E key to enter the shortcut 'RE') - Click the first corner - Hit space to move the focus to the command line and enter @50,2 Most tools only require one value input (radius, distance, ...

Re: Edit Viewport Layers

I have noticed that if I select a Viewport and then turn layers on or off, while the Viewport is selected. All the other Viewports are affected. I looked at the Viewport Property Editor and do not see any method for managing the layers in one Viewport only? I can confirm that this is not supported i...

Re: Hi Everyone!

Thanks. In this case, I can confirm that the auto factor fails / is not precise enough as a result of a rounding issue. I'd recommend to enter the known scale instead when dimensioning the parts: "1:24" for the smaller viewport and "1:12" for the larger one. The problem has been fixed for the next r...

Re: Print part of a drawing

Layout blocks and viewports are typically used to create different layouts that show different parts of a drawing: https://www.qcad.org/en/tutorial-working-with-layout-blocks-and-viewports Each layout block represents a page with its own size and orientation. A layout block may contain fixed drawing...

Re: Color of selected entities

You can adjust the color of selected entities (and other colors) under:

Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Colors > Selection

The selection color is the preference "Primary selection color".

Re: Hi Everyone!

Thank you for your kind feedback. You'd typically create those dimensions in paper space and make sure that in the options toolbar the option "Auto" is ticked. Dimensions are then created with the appropriate linear factor for the viewport they are referencing (see also property "Linear Factor" of d...

Re: Wrong map tiles generation

Thanks for the details. It's a problem with the spatial index that ships with Windows packages. We have released a snapshot release (3.26.4.5) today which comes with a different spatial index module that should fix the problem. The update is available from your download link under "Snapshots".

Re: Multli-Line with auto-Trim

All interactive tools and widgets in QCAD are implemented as scripts (at the top level). You can find these scripts of all existing tools at:
https://github.com/qcad/qcad/tree/master/scripts

For example the line tool:

-> Line2P.js

Re: Multli-Line with auto-Trim

First point is that we need the function to create a draw from an XML-file which contains the dimensions of an exterior rectangle with inside the rectangle a specific count of vertical and horizontal bars. These bars have (dependend of the bar-type) specific connectors which should initially automa...
