Re: Text in a .DXF file

Can you please be more specific? Is this a question about QCAD, about the DXF format or about Autocad / Trueview? Please note that this is a forum for QCAD and related products. We cannot offer any help with Autocad related questions (or any other products for that matter).

Re: Compatibility to AutoCAD

It is my belief that the Trial versions of QCAD do indeed insert a watermark into the drawings. Presumably AutoCAD detects this and inserts its own watermark. This is not correct. The trial version produces identical DXF/DWG files as the full version. Only PDF exports, printouts and bitmaps are wat...

Re: Hardcopy or e-book?

That's a matter of personal preference. Personally, I prefer e-books mainly because they are searchable and you can copy content from them.

We also currently have the e-book on offer for half the price when ordered together with QCAD.

Re: Adjusting Dimension properties accordingly to one's needs

have an ISO font for dimensions You can use any installed TrueType font for your dimension labels: Edit > Drawing Preferences > Dimension > Dimension Settings > Dimension Label Font Is there a way to leave a gap in a dimension line to put the figure there? No, this style is not currently supported....

Re: Running the Command Line Tools Script Example

You might want to try:

Code: Select all

qcad.exe -autostart scripts/Tools/ExTool/ExTool.js -f -o out.dxf in.dxf 2>log
And then:

Code: Select all

type log
To see if there are any errors.

Re: Running the Command Line Tools Script Example

Did you also pass the parameters as indicated in the tutorial?

I.e.:

Code: Select all

qcad.exe -autostart scripts/Tools/ExTool/ExTool.js -f -o out.dxf in.dxf
Where in.dxf is an existing DXF file in the QCAD installation directory (where the qcad.exe file is).

Re: SVG export ignores polyline width

I cannot reproduce this problem. Please make sure that the option "Preserve Geometry" is disabled in the export options ( File > Advanced SVG Export ). With "Preserve Geometry" on, the focus is on getting the geometry / coordinates of the defining data across. With "Preserve Geometry" off, the prese...

I am unable to open the qcad-bin executable file.
The startup script is called "qcad", not "qcad-bin".

Re: AutoCAD dwg opening but not visible in QCAD 3.23

It looks like there are some huge elements and the drawing might be tiny due to auto zooming.
If you attach the DXF / DWG file, I can tell you more.

Does Qcad rely on the turncated numbers?
No, that's just the output of the object's toString() method.
