Re: Spline > Append Fit Point (s)

Instead, no more spline points can be inserted in closed splines. Not even via the context menu. I cannot reproduce that here. Please make sure the closed spline does have fit points (not control points). If you can't solve it: - is the context menu entry "Insert Fit Point" shown for the spline? - ...

Re: Store object positions

You could create a block from the blade part and insert it twice in the open and closed position. If you edit the block (double-click on it), both instances are updated.

Blocks are essentially named groups that can be inserted multiple times at different positions with different angles, etc.

Re: Help

Yes, this is the type of drawing you can do with QCAD. Dimensions will look slightly different in QCAD though. The "how" question cannot be answered in short. You'll have to use the various tools the QCAD offers to draw the various elements of your drawing. I'd start with the rectangles (for example...

Re: Separate purchase / Upgrade to +CAM posible?

Would it also be possible to also cut bevels (cut in multiple passes while progressively offsetting the cutting path in or out ? No, there is no such feature in QCAD/CAM. You'd have to create different toolpaths for each offset. Anyway, the question is can I buy the CAM module or upgrade from Qcad ...

Yes, the number is indeed small, but we just wanted to give it a try, if it is not a very difficult job for you. If it is, we will instead try to explore any other ways of solving this problem.
You can try this wit the latest snapshot release (3.25.2.1) which uses a value of 20037508.342789244.

Re: Isometric dimension

Why can't a dimension be fitted correctly in an isometric drawing? All dimension tools are meant to be used for 'flat', unprojected drawings. You can use the projection tool Modify > Projection > Isometric Projection to project a dimension from a flat drawing into an isometric drawing. Note how the...

I've reported this to OpenDesign and they confirmed the bug. For now, we'll roll back to OpenDesign 4.x where possible.

Re: Automated layering in Q-CAD?

Two new tools have been added for the next QCAD/CAM release to automatically select inner contours (islands) or outer contours. The selection can then easily be moved to a separate layer.
