Re: Operate on entire object (e.g. Rectangle)

Is there a flag in qcad so that the shape creation commands, such as rectangle, use polylines instead of line segments? Yes. If you launch a Shape tool an Option bar will pop up on the top of your drawing area. Husky-2019.11.13-02.png If the option bar doesn't pops up please make sure it is activat...

Re: Operate on entire object (e.g. Rectangle)

---> If I draw a rectangle, how do I operate on (i.e. select) the whole rectangle at once instead of just the edge segments individually? If the drawing has many objects on it that touch and overlap, it can be really hard to get all the segments of a particular rectangle. QCAD has a bunch of select...

Re: Is there a "free" version?

Thanks again, Husky. You're quit welcome. Then again, at 38 USD it's practically free anyway. I agree! And to be clear - I'm just a user like you. The software (QCAD Pro or QCAD Pro / CAM) quality-price ratio is unbeatable and you get an additional one year of free updates. And that is qu...

Re: Is there a "free" version?

I found this on the QCAD - 2D CAD page of qcad.org: "QCAD is a free , open source application for computer aided drafting (CAD) in two dimensions (2D)." This makes it sound as though there is a 'free' version of QCAD. Is this the case, or am I interpreting it wrong? Nope - you're not wrong. Feel fr...

Not sure about which is the general intent of the symbol effect for sub layer

Hi, I am not sure if all the symbols in a parent layer should have the same effect on the sub layer. Case: Husky-2019.11.13-01.png In the Layer List, if I click on a Parent layer symbol for Toggle plottable, Toggle frozen, Toggle lock it will effect all sub layer in the same way. If I click on Toggl...

Re: John R and screen issue

Hi John, I've stored the file locally but can't reproduce the display issue. To see what happens please activate "Screen-based Linetypes" below Menu / View. Check "Anti-aliasing" too. You can find the same commands in the Toolbar: Husky-2019.11.11-01.png Please tell us if that changes anything. Than...

I tried opening it on my i5 Win 10 laptop just now and all
seems ok. I'll try again on my older x32 maschine.
That shouldn't be a problem at all. I run QCAD on Win10 too and I'm more than happy with the performance.

... ut really is just following the direction of the coordinate system (X+ -> right, Y+ -> top).
Question: If it just follow the coordinate system could a X+ -> right, Y- -> bottom cover the issue?

Re: How to print multiple Layout blocks to one PDF file

I would expect new pages would be added after the existing ones. Yes, me too. It is counterproductive if you have to rearrange everything just because you added pages - especially if you print pdf's. Should this be reported as a bug ... Yes, I would second that. ... or is it by design? I doubt that...

Re: How to print multiple Layout blocks to one PDF file

Hi, I can select one Layout block at a time and print that layout (both to paper and to PDF). Correct - that is how the current QCAD version is indent to work. Now I want to print my 4 layout blocks, but I can't find a way to print all 4 pages in to one PDF file or to print all 4 layout blocks to pa...
