Re: How to produce better results in DXF exchange?

I found that Qcad sometimes changes coordinates or lengths slightly. Personal I have never experienced that! E.g. when join a line with an arc endpoint, it happens, that when I later import the DXF to Blender, that there is a gap between the arc endpoint and the line (healing required). That sounds...

Re: Hatching Help

Gaps or overlapping entities are the reason for a failing HA hatch command. However - there are different possibilities to solve the issue - you may try this one first: Select the contour, launch the hatch tool H,A. If it doesn't works then a message will tell you "Loop not closed at point .... and ...

Re: Extreme newbie question - cannot create any shapes; cannot find preview

That sounds weird .... e_surprised Just to get the common suspects out of the way ... 1. the QCAD installation isn't mixed with multiple attempts to install the software in one and the same directory, correct? 2. your graphic card is proper working with all other software on your computer - especial...

Re: Creating a circle to pass through 2 points

Ah right, ok. Any suggestions how I can work that out? I need to draw a slope that drops by 18cm over a distance of 152cm but I don’t know the radius of the full circle. As Andrew already said ................... without the proper information it is just a guessing game. One solution what I can thi...

Re: Scale

Understood - thanks.

If everything in the drawings needs to be scaled to 1/64 then "Select All" entities in your drawing, launch the "Scale" tool and chose the "Focus Point". A dialog will then pop up which needs settings like this example:

Re: Scale

May I ask you what your goal is? Will you print it scaled on paper or do you need it scaled to fabricate parts on a cnc etc.?

Re: Blocks, entities, and layers

Is there a straightforward way to have the entities all end up on the layer that the block was placed on? I realize that I could "explode" the block, move all of the entities to the desired layer, and then re-create the block, but that seems unwieldy and awkward. Is there a better way? Yes, but the...

Re: Help importing a DXF

Hi, this manufacture drawing is to show you all available standard variables - you need only one of them, correct? As Andrew already mentioned - get rid of everything you don't need and reduce it to e.g. one front, top and side view. Use the clipboard to transfer it into a new drawing which h...

Re: Hidden lines

Hi - welcome to the QCAD Forum. ... no layers. I would recommend to work with layer - that is a common standard and if you are getting familiar to that technic it is very convenient to work with it. How the hell do you draw hidden lines (dashed line to represent hidden feature) for the holes? This i...

This little line segment in the circle doesn't belong there. Could it be in another layer?
It's impossible for us to answer that question without the dxf. Please attache the drawing to the post. Thanks.

Or what would be the easiest way to move the red lines to the dotted position?
Probably I would use the "Stretch" tool combined with the "Coordinate" snap.

No need to lengthen, shorten, moving, deleting blablabla multiple entities ....
