Description

This tool creates a wipeout entity. A wipeout is a blank area in a drawing that conceals a part of the drawing with the background color. This is typically used to improve the readability of text labels or to hide a part of a drawing that is not relevant.

Usage

  1. Check the frame option in the options toolbar to create a wipeout with a frame (a line around the boundary).
  2. Choose the desired tool mode in the options toolbar. The wipeout tool offers three different modi:

    • Rectangle: creates a rectangular wipeout from two diagonally opposite points.
      • Click the first and then the second corner of the rectangle.

    • Polygon: creates a polygonal wipeout.
      • Click the corners of the polygon and click the right mouse button after the last corner has been set. The undo / redo buttons in the options toolbar may be used to correct mistakes.

    • From polyline: creates a wipeout from an existing polyline.
      • Click a polyline in the drawing to create a wipeout from it. If the option "Delete Polyline" is checked, the original polyline will be deleted. For convenience, the tool also accepts circles, ellipses or splines.
