FS#1511 - Preferences not saved

as read in http://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?t=2957,
I want to edit my preferences, but it does not save from one session to the other.

I meet the same problem state here,
http://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=2269&p=7287&hilit=preferences+save#p7287 but the solution two have one change at the time does not work for me.
octal permits are:
120 -rwxrwxrwx@ 1 dr staff

should I change the group ?

In ini file at line 78, it points to a java script:
scripts/Pro/Edit/AppPreferences/ShortcutPreferences,
where is that stored ?

You shouldn't have to worry about permissions of the QCAD3.ini file. QCAD creates and manages the file automatically. You might want to monitor its date, to check if it gets modified by QCAD. Another idea is to run QCAD from the command line to check for error messages, warnings, etc.

There aren't any similar reports from other users, so this is definitely not a known or common problem.

started qcad from terminal:
the command "CadToolMatrix.applyPreferences" seems to be the right one, but it does not changes the file /Users/dr/.config/QCAD/QCAD3.ini.
Changing permit to the directory, not to the file solves the problem.
I can now edit some preferences and find them and the next start.
I just can't get rid of the grid, witch stay always there.
Is this an option in Qcad3.ini ??

The grid status is part of the individual document (Edit > Drawing Preferences).

daniele commented on 12.12.2016 13:01

I see, so have to be changed every time from scratch,
and there is not a "standard template" to change just one time.

I did vote for this thread
http://www.qcad.org/bugtracker/index.php?do=details&task_id=1511#comment1953

with the same feature request.

all the best

Defaults for new documents can be configured under Edit > Application Preferences > Defaults for New Drawings
Settings for existing documents under Edit > Drawing Preferences

It's all there :)

found!
I realize you have drawing prefences for current drawing and for application.
I did not realize you have preferences specific for new drawings, different as for application.
So now I have found!
