Re: print problemen met Qcad
Hi, and welcome to the QCAD forum.
Please read the forum rules above.
I can read dutch but the native language of the forum is English.
Also see: https://www.ribbonsoft.com/en/tutorial-printing
And/or: https://www.ribbonsoft.com/en/tutorial- ... -viewports
We can assist you better with a sample drawing.
If the content is considered proprietary then you might consider attaching the file to a PM (Private message).
Regards,
CVH

Re: print problemen met Qcad
A docx is not a native CAD file, probably just a screen grab.
(Just guessing without having a look )
What we can tell from that is that you see the art previewed on a gray background ... Or outside your paper area.
And this at paper scale 1:1 without knowing how large your art in Model_Space is without a CAD file in dxf or dwg format.
You probably declined the 'Auto fit on paper' dialog after Print Preview (Ctrl+Shift+P).
Try the button with red rectangle in the Options Toolbar => 'Auto fit the drawing to page(s)'
Don't worry, your drawing is not scale ... A proper paper scale is calculated regarding all visible things in Model_Space and the paper size.
One can alter the paper scale, the position of the paper area, even auto centered, multiple pages and so on.
Refer to the printing tutorial.
That is for printing (exporting) the content of your Model_Space depending what fits on one to more pages.
For good representations of partial art of your model space refer to the viewport tutorial.

A pdf export would be identical to directly printing on paper ... Digital it only saves paper and trees

Re: print problemen met Qcad
Dear,
I have downloaded a sample file from autodesk (building.dwg).
The problem is the same.
I have also downloaded "dwg true view",then i can plot the drawings.
I think it,s e problem in windows 11.
Printing goes to win32 application.
I will update my drivers.
Thanks anyway for the quick response and solutions.
Kind regards.

I don't think that this is the issue.Erik Dierold wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 3:34 pmPrinting goes to win32 application.

As long as your preview is not on the paper (usually white) but instead outside the paper (grey)
and/or you don't use a proper paper scale then the output will probably be less to nothing.
Given example file:
- Paper = ISO A4 Portrait (For the content auto scaled to Landscape is better suited)
- Original paper scale = 1:1 ... Auto scaled to A4 Landscape then the paper scale is about 0.000149
Remark that all the visible content is over 70000 inch wide.
As is, 1778000mm will never fit on a page size 210x297mm.
At paper scale 0.000149 it is about 265mm wide and that is 'best fitted' to paper.
This probably automatically sets a paper scale and centers the content on paper if no printing attributes where stored in the drawing.Erik Dierold wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 3:34 pmI have also downloaded "dwg true view",then i can plot the drawings.
That is pretty much what the 'auto scale' dialog, or later the 'Auto fit the drawing to page(s)' button does.
I simply opted for Landscape under Drawing Preferences .. Printing .. page
And used the shortcut Crtl+Shift+P then acknowledging the auto scale dialog.
Works as a charm with the given example file.
