[solved] PDF output off center

Post by lgreng » Fri Jul 31, 2015 10:21 pm

I recently upgraded from 3.5.1 (Linux/64) to 3.9.5, to 3.9.6, to 3.9.7. A client needed some revisions to some drawings, and to my shock, I found that I couldn't create proper PDF files, because the entire drawing would be down and to the left enough to cut the bottom and let off. Attempting to compensate by shifting the page around resulted in the top being cut off.

I kept 3.5.1 on my computer, and was eventually able to create good PDF's using it, but I thought that 3.9.7 was supposed to solve this problem. The PDF generation is basically unusable.

I'm sure glad I kept 3.5.1.

Please attach said drawing for testing or send it via e-mail, thanks.
I'm not aware of any such a problem with any version of QCAD.

Here's an example of the PDF output with 3.9.7. You can see how the bottom is cut off.

It is possible to print only a part of a drawing with QCAD. This is intended behaviour. It should of course also be possible to print the complete drawing, most likely you can do this by following these three simple steps:

- File > Print Preview
- Click the button to center the drawing on paper:

- File > PDF Export or Print

If you could attach or send the drawing file (DXF or DWG), I can check if there are any other problems with this file.

Guido: I've split your question into a separate thread since it is very likely unrelated to this thread:

This issue should be fixed in the current 3.9.8 release.
