Leaders and text

From a QCAD user:

Are Leaders and Text really two entities, separately created? I can't seem to figure out where to enter the text associated with a leader.

Yes, they are two separate entities.

The reason is that leaders are specified in the DXF / DWG format specification as polylines with arrows, no text.
