If I paste something from the clipboard to a drawing the scales of dims are wrong in the preview.

It is difficult to place it right with a confusing preview of that what I have to place ...

If I customize the Text height I get redundant Infos for the Contents...

Insert Block:

If I use the “Flip Block” option (Horizontal and/or Vertical) the Buttons doesn’t remains Highlighted. It should remain Highlighted ...

Reference Point options (Start, middle, end) also for “Relative angle” and “Orthogonal” .... like the other lines

It would be nice to have the option for a “Short” Extension Line.
This is often used in Architectural drawings.
Yes, I know that I can explode a dimension and change it to that what I’m asking for - but that is really a Sisyphus task and destructs the function of a dynamic Dimension in QCAD.

Setting:
Application Preferences - Widgets - Command line - Show information as dialog: Ticked!

If I use the Info Tool Polygonal Area and decide to close it with a right mouse click the “Show information” dialog window pops up - just as expected.
If I close the Dialog window with the OK Button .... a “CAD Tools” Menu pops up. Not expected

By the way - any chance to control the number of digits after the decimal point in the Info dialog window? 15 decimal places are most of the time just to much!

QCAD 3.0 / 3.1

Test case:
set relative zero,
choose rectangle RE tool,
choose snap tool coordinate,
Now QCAD is asking for the x,y coordinates and my thinking was it will just use them for the start point (what I’m looking for!) - but .... QCAD will use the given coordinates for the Start point of the rectangle(right!) AND as size for the rectangle(wrong!)

3.1 Beta / XP32

Two Points (C2),
Two Points and Angle (A2),
Two Points and Radius (CD),
ONE Mouse-click = Alert message: “The two points are identical”

Tangent two circles (LT2),
Click on first circle = Alert message: “No tangent possible”,
Click on second circle = Alert message: “No tangent possible”

If I do my Grid settings - there are not correctly taken over in existing or new drawings.

Some kind of multiplication?

Task:
Drawing - New from Template ...

My Default Template Folder in “Application Preferences” is on F: (USB Port).
QCAD depicts to C:/Programme/QCAD pro 3.1.2/libraries/templates
(Yes - I started QCAD new after adjusting the default Folder)

If I need to move etc. a block regarding to his reference point - I’m not able to snap to the reference point All other snap points are appear as just fine working ...

If I have to “Auto trim” a line between to construction (or what ever ) lines the Auto Trim function works as expected!

If I use the same constellation with an arc the Auto trim function will give me an uncontrolled, unexpected result

Task: Selected “all” (Circle + Hatch)
Move / Copy tool,
Reference, move/copy, place, KEEP ORIGINAL, OK,
Undo,
Works!!!

Same scenario but DELETE ORIGINAL,
Undo,
Doesn’t works correctly!

QCAD 3.1.5 - has a new “Dimensioning Scale adjustment option” (Property editor/Linear Factor). NICE!!!

What means - we are now able to change the dimension scale for existing dims!

My Feature request refers to new dimensions and I think it would be perfect to have a “Scale Factor - On/Off Option” for all Dim Tools.

That would bring us in the position to copy / scale a part of our drawing for a detail view and we could just use us usual the dimensioning tools (with a scale factor) for the dimensioning task ....

I’m not sure but if this is a duplicate please delete!

Feature Request:
It would be nice to have a tool what will help to draw tangential circles and arcs between other entities.

I imagine this tools with a three entities (circles, lines) selection or two entities plus a radius.

I don’t know: Bug or Feature request ....

Example: If I move the “Library Browser” with the mouse closer than ~63px to the top corner it will go to blend in.
Undo doesn’t works in this case - so I have to pull it out and re-size the widget.

Usually it should blend in if I’m over the bar or at least I have to be much closer to the corner - or not?

Drawing Preferences - Dimension settings - “Keep proportion” setting changes will not be saved with the Drawing.

Maybe you have to try it a couple times with the same drawing

If I switch a Block to invisible and use then the “Auto Zoom” in my drawing - the zoom cutout will appear like the block would still be visible

If I use in an area with invisible Blocks the “rectangular selection” in “lower left to upper right” direction for a move/copy, mirror, clipboard etc. action - a warning window appear. Also the reference points of the invisible blocks are visible.

If I use the “rectangular selection” in upper right to lower left direction everything works as expected.

If I use the isometric tools for a text QCAD will keep a construction Box as a leftover ...

Lower left to upper right selection which includes invisible blocks causes warning window if I try to use the clipboard “copy” or “cut” function:

“Trying to draw on or modify entities on a locked or invisible layer”

... but it works!

Upper right to lower left selection over all doesn’t calls the warning window!

Created library item does not have the same unit as source drawing.
Zero point is not at chosen reference point.

Vers. 3.2.1, Drawing Unit “inch”!

... it takes the absolute 0 point as reference.

Millimeter works fine!!!

Rest of the units .... I don’t know

Info Tools - Area: “Add measurement to drawing” doesn’t work as expected

It would be nice if we could use the Stretch tool also on blocks.

There are so many possibility’s to build a really good (time-saving) block-list /library with preassembled parts but if I have always to explode / ruin the block to use the stretch tool doesn’t helps the productivity.

“Clip to rectangle / clear area” in combination with a Block will explode the Block and change all line attributes for the exploded ex-block.

It would be nice to get a status information after the use of the “Search/Replace” tool.

Something like: “5 matches found and replaced”,
or
no “matches found”.

It helps allot to get an Idea what happens in your drawing. Right now the tool window will just disappear and you have no idea about any success.

Bug or Feature request?

Tool “Parallel” is not working on an intact ellipse. If I explode the ellipse it will work but then it turns out to a Sisyphus task ...

If I have multi lines with different heights in a Rich Text the scale tool works not at all or the scale factor works different on each lines.

This example is scaled with factor 2. First line works - second line keeps the proportions.

My QCAD setting for “Decimal Points” is “dot” instead of “comma”.
(Application Preferences, General, Coordinate Format, Decimal Point: Dot ‘.’(Default))

The new Line2PEx tool will only accept a comma - if I use a dot it will be automatically replaced by a comma.
The displayed angle in the drawing will use a dot.
No red Text font warning for using an invalid value.

I used a screen-shot with an additional coordinate option to make it a bit clearer:

The German translation isn’t shown in all parts of the Selection Filter.

... just cosmetic!

Rectangle with size: The option box “Reference Point” is a bit to small to show the whole text of the chosen option.

English / German = same behavior.

Is the Japanese translation still in progress or is this a update Problem?

My Coordinate Format/Decimal Point is adjusted to Dot’.’ but the “Centreline Cross (C,S)” will only accept Comma for Angel. X/Y works fine!

BTW: Is the spelling correct in the Menu? Should it be spelled “Centerline Cross” instead of “Centreline Cross” ...?

Exploding a usual block - no problems.
Exploding a dimension - it will freeze the explode tool until I reset the tool or use another tool. New drawing / old drawing doesn’t matter.

If I use the Copy/Cut with Reference Clipboard function I can’t use the “Coordinate” or “Polar coordinate” snap to determine the reference point.
I have the feeling that just the option box isn’t shown ....

I can’t find any documentation (Reference Manual / Book) about the possibility to change the “corner” transition shape for Spline’s (Control Points) with multiple mouse clicks.
1, 2 or 3 clicks = smooth to sharp corner.

QCAD start,
Application Preferences:
Units: inch
Dim: Fractions

Changed the Drawing Preferences to:
Units: mm
Dim: Decimal

Design a Dim and it will be created with the mm/Deci settings - as expected,

Select now the Dim - activate the ISO Tool - the try to determine the reference point fails / it’s way of the clicked point and now the produced ISO Projection will use the attributes for DIM’s from the “Application Preferences” setting - hmmmmmmm, not as expected

The Linetype Names in the pull-down menu for Layer are hardly readable - it seams to me that the description is used twice (in different ways) in each row.
Till 3.6.4 the Information was short and clear.

Hi,

if I have an arc and use the Property Editor to get the Geometrical information I always miss the total angle of the arc.

Yes - I have the Start and the End angle but to get the Total angle I have to draw construction lines to be able to use the Angular Dim or Info angle tool /or I need to use a pocket calculator ...

It would be nice to have this calculated by QCAD - I assume it can’t be that difficult to design an extra field which will display, based on the start and end angle, the total angle of an arc.

What do you think?

QCAD Pro / Deutsch

Selektionsfilter:
Eigenschaft / Auswahlliste wird nicht in Deutsch angezeigt.

“Zoom to selection” shows no effect on vertical and horizontal lines: Message: “No selection found”.

Recognizable at:
vertical lines, horizontal lines,
Rectangle, Rectangle with size,
Polygon Center Point, Polygon two corner (only in the case that you have vertical/horizontal lines),

Shapes as a polyline - no problem.

Äquidistante:
Spelling correction: “Polyline” instead of “Polzlinie” ...

... except reference points I can’t anymore snap to any line on a Dimension. To make a proper alignment I need to use the Grid or other entities.

At closed Polygons: Chamfer / Bevel / Round tools are not proper working at the Start/End corner transition.

The new tool “Paste along entity” is very useful! But I work mostly in mechanical engineering and would like to see more options to determine where it has to start with the first insert item.

Screenshot:

1. That is how it works right now - no chance to get it started on both ends of an line.

2. If I need to have my items also on the ends I have to use additional the normal “Paste” function.

3. If I could tell the “Paste along entity” that there is a start and end “Base” dimension then I’m a big step further.

I could tell the tool that it has to start at “0” or at “25” and the rest is just regarding the calculation. Correct?

However - you need many times in mechanical engineering etc. a hole pattern which will start at:

0,25,25,25,25,25,25,25,25,0

or

25, 123.5, 123.5, 123.5, 123.5, 123.5, 25

It would be very nice to have this also in combination with the “Paste along entity” tool

Snap to “Intersection manual” is only working in dependency on Line/Polyline orientation.

Two Polylines (not each other crossing): doesn’t works.

One Line, one Polyline (not each other crossing) works only in dependency on entity orientation.

“Recent files history size” Applikationseinstellungen/Zuletzt geöffnete Dateien

“Default lineweight for new layers” Applikationseinstellungen/Layer/Layer hinzufügen

“Hide internal blocks” Applikationseinstellungen/Widgets/Blockliste

Default settings (Application preferences) for “Printing colors” shows no effect on a “Grayscale” or a “Black and white” setting.
Regardless the setting a new drawing is always presented with a “Full color” adjustment.
