I know that I can’t stretch a block in Model space but a block completely inside a Blocks should move. It doesn’t works that way in 3.22.0.3

Case: My last “Print preview” setting was “Multiple Pages” = 4
QCAD will remember this setting until I change it.

If I then - maybe days later - start a “Print current view” out of my drawing then QCAD will show me the current view on ONE page. Exactly what I expected. If I start the print QCAD will print on FOUR pages regarding to the last “Print preview” setting. Not what I was looking for ....

Now knowing what will happen I launch “Print current view”, see my current view on ONE page, launch the “Drawing preferences”, see that FOUR is the number for pages, doesn’t change anything and cancel the dialog. NOW I can see that FOUR pages are used for the current view print.

That is confusing and it would be nice to have somehow more control over this behavior.

Scenario:

launch BE / Edit contents of selected block,
Pencil symbol shows that this block is now in edit mode,
launch Rename Block / rename it, confirm with ok, dialog closes,
renaming doesn’t works, pencil symbol is still on that block,
try to launch rename block again - doesn’t work anymore,
return to main drawing,
if I then select this block it will show the new name in the Property editor but not in the block list,
if I try to open this block within the block list again it doesn’t works,
if I open this block within a double-click in my drawing it will open but the pencil isn’t shown.

Now I try the third time to post this .... .... deleted by “wrong token”???????

Editing the cxf font in the original QCAD font folder will lead to a error message triggered by the Autosave function:

File access error: “C:/Program Files/qcad-3.22.1-pro-win64/fonts\~~Husky_test_font.dxf”. Access is denied.
[15:34:58] Autosave failed: C:\Program Files\qcad-3.22.1-pro-win64\fonts\~Husky_test_font.dxf

Note: Windows will not save anything in a system folder and the process is terminated by windows.

Solution: Move the cxf font for editing from the QCAD folder to a unprotected folder like Documents/drawings.
After editing is done move it back to the QCAD font folder.

I’m not able to import any dxf or dwg.

QCAD 3.23.0.2
File / New from Template fails in different situation like immediately after launching the tool, sometimes after changing directories in the dialog like from imperial to metric etc..
QCAD tries for ever (wait cursor) or even quits QCAD. It’s not a clear pattern ...

3.23.0.2 doesn’t works

Reported on Ubuntu 19.4, Win10

3.23.02 Block toggle switch for visibility fails.
3.23.0 Block toggle switch for visibility works.

QCAD Pro fails to write R10, R9, R2.6, R2.5 dwg files. Younger types and dxf work as expected.
Tested the issue back to QCAD 3.18 - no version is able to save those file types.

Snapshot 3.23.04

Spacing for symbols in layer list way to wide compared to previous versions.

Drawing created with a previous QCAD version has issues to be correctly displayed in the current snapshot.
e.g. drawing opened in QCAD 3.23.0 - works flawless.
same drawing opened in QCAD 3.23.4 - has problems to show inserted blocks correctly.

Cases:

1. QCAD default start drawing:
Application Preferences, Page Tags enabled,
Load new drawing (Menu/File/New),
Launch Print Preview, Page Tags not displayed on print preview page,
Check Drawing Preferences shows that Page Tags are still enabled, turn it off, turn it on, confirm with OK makes the Page Tags visible on the Print Page.

2. Customized start template drawing - saved as template with enabled Page Tags - same behavior.

Case:
Infinitive line,
launch Divide (DI),
click infinitive line

An orthogonal preview line should now indicates where the cut will happen when the next point is chosen.
QCAD version 3.23.0.5 displays that indicator below a variable angle to the infinitive line. Regardless what it shows - the cut will happen orthogonal.

If I insert a bitmap the relative zero point (RZ) isn’t set at all. It will be set at the mouse position in the moment when I terminate the tool.

This leads among other things that I can’t use the Alt key for ortho mode or other tools for restrictions.

If I use accidentally explode on a ray or infinitive line the line will be deleted without a warning.

1. If I use accidentally explode on a bitmap it will be deleted without a warning.

2. If I select an area with a selection rectangle as preparation for the “Clip to rectangle” tool all bitmaps within the selection are deleted - without a warning.

Within the nesting preparation:
A left mouse click to add a sheet will always be confirmed with “Sheet added”, regardless of a proper selection or where the left click is done in Model_Space.

Description for the CAM Nesting alignment:

I tested a few scenarios. e.g
a Top Left, Align → leads to a top right alignment,
a Top left, Hull → leads to a Bottom Left alignment,
etc.

If launching the Menu / Block / “Create Block from selection” tool the usually used Command Line dialog to prompt to the next required action is missing.
The Status bar is properly calling for “Reference Point” etc.

I like the new shape tool “Star”. Comes at the right time

Would be nice if we could get the same options like all other shape tools: “Create Polyline” and “Fill”.

Example shows the effect on a ring (Menu → Draw → Ring)

Open the example drawing,
selected all,
copy to clipboard,
open new drawing,
paste clipboard content with a scale of 1:1, check preview = everything ok,
change scale to 1/10 etc., check preview = block references way of.

QCAD Pro Version 3.24.0.1

Case:
Nesting quantity all test: 3

Nesting block2 = works
Nesting block1 = fails (placed outside sheet),
Nesting both blocks = fails (placed partly outside sheet),

If I set “Set Nesting Quantity” to e.g. 5 it will remember this number within the session.
If I need to check which number I’ve used last time there is no way to find the actual used value - it will show me always 1.
If I restart QCAD/CAM the value is completely lost and the nesting tool tries to fit in as much as possible into the sheet - regardless that the quantity number still shows one.

It would be nice to have a remember function even after restarting QCAD/CAM and have some kind of possibility to see the last used value.

Clip to Area = deletes whole blocks
Clear Area = deletes whole blocks
Cut at Area Boundary = deletes whole blocks

It was working before e.g. in QCAD Version 3.18.0

If I use the mentioned option and do an undo all entities will stay on the previously chosen target (current) Layer - the layer restoration fails.

Example:
entities on layer x,
current Layer y,
select entities,
Move/Copy MV,
reference,
drag to new position,
Dialog option “Use current Layer and attributes” checked,
OK,
Undo

To reproduce the issue: Insert a Library item from the Library browser and the RZ point will stay where it is.

Sorry - can’t give you a proper way to reproduce it .... it just happens.

Dimension Arrows shown with reduced contrast, zoom in/out can trigger it but not always,
text hight jumps from “correct” to way to small to a kind of mixed size display,
DIM preview fails often in size - probably depending on zoom factor ...

If I edit a DIM regarding the fixed Extension Line Length it will fail if it has to be extended to meet the new length. Even it has failed - the Property Editor will provide from now on the new length as the “correct” value for the Extension Line Length.

The new QCAD feature “dimension label color” will change the label color at existing drawings to “Custom”.
In my opinion it should be by default “by Layer” until the user decide to change the color by him/herself.

Case:

Tool tip for “Undo Last Segment” - Segment instead of Segement

The property editor offers for an Angular Dimension the option to make a fixed extension (yes/no) but the input field for a length is missing.

Case:
launch LI,
launch for the first point SH, set to 5 distance,
snap to a point,
activate Auto snap, (which would work with SD for EH and EV but not for Alt)
try to restrict orientation for second point with ALT, EH, EV - it won’t work in this scenario ...

Edit: Playing around ... could it be that RZ is not propperly set within those tools?

Crop marks in Paper_Space are only printed if a Viewport covers the crop mark position.

Case: Tested with the example drawing provided below:

If I select every single entity piece by piece with the mouse pointer the total length is correct.
If I select everything in once with a rectangular or a polyline selection the total length is incorrect.

Status change for Visibility is without any effect on Viewports in Paper_Space.

Case:
Entities drawn on a layer in Model_Space. Visibility on/off works.
Situation covered with a Viewport, placed in Paper_Space, Edit content launched for that Paper_Space, Visibility on/off doesn’t works.

It was properly working in previos QCAD versions ...

It would be nice if we could use the length of a polyline as a search criterion too.

Selection Filter, Property for Polyline, “Length” Comparison: same like Line?

A block selection in Model_Space with the rectangle area selection tool fails because the block reference is located at an unexpected location. If I catch by accident the reference point or do a simple mouse click selection it will work.

Rectangle area selection doesn’t work on ALL Ordinate dim’s.

(CU) Convert Drawing Unit (inch, mm etc) to none fails with the message “Warning, Unit “None” selected. Nothing to be done”.
In the same drawing I can change the Drawing Unit below “Drawing preferences/ Drawing Unit” to None without any problems.

Just lost a detailed report (token?)- now a short version!

Nesting fails when parts fit plus minus null on sheets. My parts should fit regarding to the measurements on a sheet multiple times. The nesting tool can’t find a solution.

Options are:
Quantity multiplier: 0
Rotation: 4
Sheet margin: 0
Margin: 0
Tolerance: 0

If I modify the parts and make them slightly smaller then a nesting is done as expected. Did I miss something?

NumBlock Enter key is not accepted by “Coordinate” tool to confirm the settings in the option bar (green Arrow icon). Enter key on main keyboard works.

Very confusing when you are used to type in all numbers with the NumBlock (what is very fast) but to confirm you have to use the “far away” Enter on the Main keyboard ...
