Support for external references (XREF)

UCS support.

Add support to draw revision clouds or convert polylines, ellipses, circles to revision clouds.

Insert field into drawing that displays current date, file name, ...

Add a tool to detect overlapping segments or lines and arcs.
Similar like the “overkill” command in other CAD systems.

Use case:

• Start tool
• Choose one entity of the contour
• If contour is closed, area of closed contour is calculated an printed in the command line history
• Configuration parameters: segment length for arc interpolation

The 3dConnexion Space Navigator would be wonderful as a pan and zoom control. I find it extremely useful in SketchUp and when I switch from that to QCAD am always disappointed to find it doesn’t work.

While full support for the buttons and such would be nice, just the ability to map the axis to pan and zoom would be wonderful.

Duplicate layout blocks

Wipeout entities can be used to hide rectangular or polygonal sections of a drawing, for example to make space for a label inside a hatch.

E.g. use Millimeters for construction while dimensions are displayed in Meters.

Add support for automatic text line wrapping for multiline text entities.

Add support for
- tolerance display (dimtol)
- upper limit (dimtp)
- lower limit (dimtm)
- tolerance precision (dimtdec)
- tolerance text size factor (dimtfac)
- tolerance suppress zeros, etc.

Tools to add control points to existing splines and remove control points.

Points on line: enter distance instead of number of points as a variant of the tool or as a new tool.

Add tool to construct new trace entities.
Trace entities can currently only be loaded from DXF/DWG.

Implement a multiline tool.

New mode for clip to rectangle: copy contents of rectangular area to clipboard.

Import tables in CSV format and display them in the drawing as lines and text.

Add a tool to duplicate a layout block with contents.

Duplicate (copy, clone) a layer with or without entities on it. New name can be specified by user.

Add support for alternate units for dimension style, for example to display units in mm and in.

Multiline attributes can contain linefeeds and formatting like MTEXT.

Add more dimension arrow styles (e.g. dots).

Save layer state (visibility) with each added view object (optional?).

The Omega button to insert special characters is only available in rich text mode.
Make it available in simple text mode as well.

Slow loading of drawing with huge number of block inserts (more than 10000).

Add a button to edit the block beside the block combo box that is shown when showing the properties of a block reference.

Apparently this was possible in QCAD 2 due to the default behavior of Qt.
