FS#1455 - Orthographic Projection -Cylindrical, clipping query
Please refer to attached drawing
1.Draw square 80mm x 80mm.
2.Draw circle in the centre 44mm dia.
3.Select circle and project using orthographic projection tool (cylindrical) with clipping enabled onto copy of square to the right.
4.Clipping should do what? is it suppose to clip the edges of the square? if so it doesn’t clip and doesn’t seem to make any difference whether I enable the ‘clipping’ option or not.
The clipping option clips the part of the projection that would be behind the X/Y plane and would often (but not always) be invisible. If you enter an angle other than 90 (e.g. 75), you can see the difference more clearly.
I'll change the tool tip of the Clipping control from "Clip at X/Y plane" to "Clip projection at X/Y plane". I hope that makes it clearer.
Much clearer thanks and yes the explanation at the tool tip will help.
